King Vijayabahu VII was a monarch who ruled the Kingdom of Kotte. He ascended the throne in 1513 and was the son of King Veera Parakramabahu VIII.

Early Life and Family

King Vijayabahu VII was born around 1445 CE. He was the son of King Veera Parakramabahu VIII, who was an adopted child of King Parakramabahu VI, who restored the Kingdom of Kotte. He grew up with his brothers Sri Rajasinghe, King Dharma Parakramabahu IX, and Raigam Bandara. He also had one sister who was married to Manamperi Arachchi.

Ascension to Kingship
